Make Memories at Mendon Twin Drive-In with Friends or Family: Attractions Article by 10Best.com

Mendon Twin Drive-In has been making memories since opening its gates back in 1954.

Today, those gates are open nightly in the summer and then on weekend evenings during the spring and fall months, when Mendon Twin Drive-In shows a double feature.

A change in ownership of this Boston area gem has brought new life to an old-time favorite attraction that’s fit for the whole family or a night out with friends.

At Mendon Twin Drive-In, you can catch “first-run” family entertainment at a price that’s pleasing to your pocket. For $25, your car-full (up to six guests) can come in to catch two shows from the comfort of your car.

Check the coming attractions each Monday to see what’s on screen for the current week, as well as the week ahead, then find a night that works for you, fill your car with friends or family and head to Mendon for some drive-in time.

With their updated sound system, you won’t miss the movie theater’s enclosed atmosphere, because the sound will amplify across the drive-in’s two lots, allowing you to clearly hear the show from the comfort of your car.

You can also tune your radio to the set frequency and hear it clearly on your own speakers.

Currently owned and operated by Phantom Gourmet’s Andelman brothers, Mendon Twin Drive-In has added a little sass to its setup, appropriate as these Gourmet men have been food focused for years.

Judi’s Snack Bar and C’s Pizza Shack are open each evening, serving fast-food favorites that reflect a little Phantom in style while staying true to classic movie theater drive-in roots.

When a meal is on your mind at Mendon Twin Drive -In, you’ll find appealing, easy-to-eat options on the menu.

Dig into cheese and pepperoni pizza fresh from C’s Pizza Shack’s industrial pizza ovens; take a big bite of cheeseburgers of all sizes; munch on popcorn chicken; bite into a Mendon Mile-Long Hot Dog; chomp on a convenient corn dog; or pop some mac and cheese bites into your mouth.

You can also share a Pennsylvania Dutch pretzel; pick at an order of crispy French fries; order the nachos with cheese; or enjoy the gooey mozzarella sticks, all from the comfort of your car .

For the movie theater purists, there’s freshly popped popcorn, complete with as much butter as you can manage, and a candy counter stocked full of old-school and current favorites like Twizzlers, M&Ms and Swedish Fish.

Best of all may be the dessert, as Mendon Drive-In serves nostalgic summer fare like fried dough and ice cream in all forms: cones, cups, sundaes, floats and frappes.

Plus, Pop’s Beer Garden is always pouring, offering six beers on draft including Bud, Bud Light, Shock Top, Johnny Appleseed, Sierra Nevada and Wormtown, red wine, white wine and sangria at reasonable prices. Your non-driving adults can kick back, relax and enjoy a pint or two while viewing the movie.

Beyond the food, the guys of Phantom Gourmet have found new ways to draw crowds to Mendon Twin Drive-In, adding special events like on-stage entertainment, cruise nights and the must-attend Phantom Gourmet BBQ bash.

Make your way to the Mendon Twin Drive-In, and make some memories this season.
