Most Desirables Locations to get Married this Year
The most important day of your life, a day that you hope you will never do more than once, a day that should be full of memories that you won’t ever forget, a day dreams come true, in the most breathtaking surroundings with the most loved people in your life. You wedding day should take place in one of the most romantic locations on earth. Below I have listed my Top 10 stunning locations around the world to get married this year!
1 – Lake Garda/Lake Orta, the Beautiful Italian Lakes
Arguably the most romantic countries in the world, but definitely the most romantic in Europe; Italy, a country that oozes love, art, culture, history, breathtaking diverse scenery and some of the most beautiful backdrops for a wedding. The Italian lakes in particular, especially in the summer months, can offer the gorgeous weather, shimmering lakes bordered by lush mountains and medieval towns and my favourite wine and cuisine in the world. The largest of the Italian lakes, Lake Garda is a popular destination to get married.
Lake Orta, one of the lesser known of the Italian gems and sometimes mistakenly forgotten, would make the loveliest location to tie the knot. Lake Orta is the most romantic location in the Italian Lake District and its vibe and feel is that of a true fairy tale. Charming and characteristic, Lake Orta as a wedding venue feels more personal, unique and romantic.
2 – Florence, Tuscany, the Land of Love
Florence is the art and history capital of Europe with most of the city being created during the renaissance. Hosting some of Italy’s best Italian restaurants and the birthplace and home to one of the most famous loves stories of Dante and Beatrice. Florence is great for both smaller and larger weddings and provides more of a traditional wedding ceremony.
This fascinating city full of history dating back 2000 years, offers a couple Medieval, Renaissance Palaces and Boboli gardens for ceremonies and receptions.
3 – Elegant and Sophisticated, Napa Valley
Go to the Napa Valley region for that gorgeous wedding amongst lush green surroundings, working wineries and intimate vineyards. Napa Valley offers memorable, stylish and sophisticated wedding locations with a multitude of options. A location that radiates elegance, so whether it’s getting married in the wineries, in a hotel or bed and breakfasts, private homes, old-fashioned halls or the vineyards, you can be sure of an elegant event.
4 – Aloha from Maui, Hawaii
Stunning wedding location on the island of Maui, Hawaii includes beaches, tropical gardens, private estates, churches and luxurious hotels. The most precious time of your life can only be described in Hawaii as traditional (you may choose to go for even a traditional Polynesian theme), intimate and exquisite. You could even have an extreme wedding if you have a scuba diving license!
5 – Islands of Santorini, Greece
Magical, beautiful, gorgeous and friendly are just some of the words that will make your wedding a lasting memory. If I ever get married, this destination would be my perfect wedding location. Exclusive and personal ceremonies with some of the most spectacular views of sparkling, crystal blue seas.
6 – Amalfi Coast, One of Europe’s Most Breathtaking Drives
Experience the Mediterranean soul and life with a unique wedding on the Amalfi coast. Experience a little bit of paradise on the colourful and unique Amalfi Coast. If it’s your dream to have an outside, beach yet characteristic and charming wedding, then Amalfi coast is for you.
7 – The Sunny Maldives
A dream come true and picture postcard experience, the Maldives is the stunning location for any dream wedding. With so many luxury resorts to choose from getting married in the Maldives won’t just be a wedding of a lifetime but a trip of a lifetime.
8 – The Best in the Indian Ocean, Mauritius
Mauritius is probably one of the most romantic and idyllic wedding locations on my list. White sandy beaches, shimmering clear blue waters that blend into the pure blue skies, what could be more idyllic than a private, small, exclusive wedding on one of Mauritius’s stunning beaches. Dip your feet into the sea, toast your commitment with a glass of wine in that beautiful white dress and flower in your hair. So whether you stay in a private villa or one of their many five star, top class hotels/resorts, how about having your wedding and honeymoon all in one beautiful place.
9 – Glitz and Glam of Las Vegas
Getting married in Las Vegas isn’t all about themed weddings, little white chapels and Elvis Presley! Obviously if you are looking for a quick, for some people very memorable and different, wedding whilst also tying in a hen and stag do, Las Vegas is the best place to get hitched. Las Vegas is also more than that! Las Vegas boasts gorgeous weather most of the year round and their incredible hotels have some of the most beautiful gardens and wedding settings. Las Vegas boasts luxury, style and striking skylines.
My parents have recently renewed their vows in the Little White Chapel in Las Vegas, and even though Elvis Presley did sing my mother down the aisle of the chapel, it was intimate, quite romantic and one they will never forget. There are lots of options from more romantic packages to themed weddings. The Little White Chapel has seen many famous faces tie the knot from Britney Spears, Judy Garland, Bruce Willis and Demi Moore to Sylvester Stallone who renewed his vows there. The most popular day to get married in Las Vegas is Valentine’s Day.
10 – Colourful Mexico
Picture perfect backdrops, waves breaking in the Caribbean Sea, bare feet on the white sand; why choose a wedding in Mexico? A few words spring to mind, romantic, special, magical and convenient as like a wedding in Mauritius it’s a wedding and honeymoon package rolled into one.
Riviera Maya was the location of my latest holiday and as we spent two weeks on our glorious beach, we watched wedding after wedding. They varied in sizes and locations from either on the beautifully decorated gazebo or right on the shore, on the sand and at the water’s edge. I was very envious of the brides.
