With such a variety of luxurious resorts and hotels that you can book, the possibilities are endless. Honeymooners can relax with their own private butlers at venues such as Six Senses Samui, or for ultimate privacy you can enjoy your own swimming pools at Amanpuri. Intimate beach bungalows are another option in Krabi or even head over to Honeymoon Island, created solely for honeymooners.

With so many options it is important to spend time discussing what kind of honeymoon will suit you, and here are some tips for going about this.

Type of Honeymoon

Thailand’s landscape is extremely diverse, including beautiful beaches, dense rainforests and towering mountains. Discuss with your spouse what kind of activities you will want to spend your time doing such as hiking, swimming, sun bathing or simply exploring the attractions of Thailand.

Chang Mai is a great city for exploring the cultural side of the country with a variety of temples, caves and waterfalls you can visit. There are also hill tribes in the surrounding valleys around the city, who will teach you a lot about the cultural side to Thai life. There are even elephant treks through the emerald forests on offer.

Then there is the capital, Bangkok. The allure of the biggest city in Thailand is that it comes with culture, a range of different dining options and a variety of shopping malls. The opposite end of the spectrum to Bangkok is relaxing on the sandy beaches of Koh Phi Phi or Phuket, where you can take romantic walks along the beach, sun bathe and explore the nightlife in the intimate bars along the shoreline.

Different hotels will cater for different needs so you will need to decide what exactly you want from your honeymoon. Some will take care of everything for you while there are options of taking care of things by yourself. There are many big resorts in places such as Phuket and Koh Samui which will cater to all of your needs while also being close to the beaches. Be sure to compare flights to Thailand to find the best deals on airlines to and from the country.

Looking through various travel guides such as Lonely Planet will give you an idea of what there is to do in different areas.  You can also check out the official Thai tourism website which will give you an enthusiastic view of some of the best sites the country has to offer, although you should be aware only the best photographs are used for advertisement purposes.

Another helpful source of information are the various travel forums on the internet where people with similar queries about holidays ask questions, and receive answers from people who have been to the same places they are curious about.
